Cecil County

Cecil County is located at the northeastern corner of Maryland, bordering both Pennsylvania and Delaware. The county is primarily located on the Upper Chesapeake Bay, midway between Philadelphia and Baltimore.  With its eastern parts of the county closer to Philadelphia than to Baltimore.  Cecil County is also bisected east-to-west by I-95 which provides a major artery for traffic between the Baltimore-Washington area to the Philadelphia and New York/New Jersey regions.  There are more than 103,000 people living in the county which is primarily rural, with denser development around the county seat of Elkton and along U.S. Route 40.


 


There are charming small towns, parks with miles of trails, antique shops, award winning restaurants, and inns. You can hike, bike, camp, bird watch, ride horseback, or drop a fishing line. Fair Hill Natural Resource Management Area provides 5600 acres of wilderness and 40 miles of trails for biking, hiking, and horseback riding and was the location of the movie set
