Anne Arundel County is the most centrally located county, Maryland’s fourth most populated county and home to Annapolis, the state’s capital.  Most of the county’s borders are defined by water.  Anne Arundel county is bordered in the north by Baltimore City; east by the Chesapeake Bay; south by Calvert County; west by the Patuxent River, Prince George, and Howard counties.
